Bio
Thomas entered as Head Volleyball Coach at College of the Redwoods for the Fall 2025 season after serving as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Cal Poly Humboldt under Angela Spoja. A Denver, Colorado native, Thomas brings her experience from both her playing and coaching career, along with a strong background in leadership, community engagement, and athlete development.

During her time as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Humboldt, Thomas worked closely with the strength and conditioning coaches to develop volleyball-specific training programs, assisted with practice planning, and played a key role in daily operations.

As a student-athlete at Humboldt, Thomas was heavily involved in the campus community. She served as the President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for three years, leading multiple community engagement projects. Notably, she partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to organize two "Workout for Wishes" fundraisers, raising over $3,000 to help grant wishes for children in need. She also partnered with Go4theGoal, where she organized the “Lace Up” initiative, encouraging athletes to wear gold shoelaces in competition to raise awareness and funds for families facing pediatric cancer diagnoses. Her dedication to service earned her the Community Engagement Athlete of the Year award from the Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics Department in 2023.

During her playing career at Humboldt, Thomas was a Libero/Defensive Specialist, competing in 42 matches and 121 sets. She recorded a career-high 14 digs as libero against CSU Monterey Bay in her final season and was named Team Captain in 2022 by head coach Angela Spoja.

Thomas earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in New Venture Management in Fall 2022, along with her master’s degree in Business Administration in Fall 2024. Her academic accolades include making the Dean’s List, being named a Presidential Scholar, and earning a spot on the CCAA All-Academic Team.

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Thomas is the co-founder of True North Volleyball Club, an organization she established to bring high-level competitive travel volleyball opportunities to the remote Humboldt County community. Recognizing the limited access local athletes had to elite training and exposure, she built the club with a mission to develop athletes, expand pathways to collegiate volleyball, and strengthen the regional volleyball landscape.

Now, as the Head Coach at College of the Redwoods, Thomas looks forward to building a strong and competitive volleyball program while continuing to emphasize leadership, academic success, and community involvement. She is excited to develop student-athletes both on and off the court and bring her passion for the game to the Redwoods.
